Time to Wake Up

I feel as if today we have passed a point in Space/Time that is now irreversible.
The Point of No Return.
The Die is Cast.

Our future is determined by forces we never even imagined.
There is something in the air today.
The Earth is breathing a sigh.
The sigh of resignation.

The Past is Gone - the Future is uncertain at best.
No time left to change our minds or change our ways.

A gray fog is drifting across the fields, farms, forests, and deserts.
It is worse in the cities of senseless sensation and unending mindless consumption.

If there is some kind of Protector for Gaia  it is time for it / them, to step up to the plate.
The time of Reckoning is near.
The cycles are repeating.
Heaven or Hell, take your pick -
Something is up that may be coming back down - Hard.

I hope that the Spirit of Hope is a real Spirit and not just vain imaginings
or Homo Sapiens mythology.

Wake up and Look Up!
The Rats are deserting the ships -
The creators of Deception and Destruction are digging in
in hopes of avoiding the coming devastation.

The Future doesn't look very bright right now.

The Glass Bottom Boat

We drift along watching our lives go by
like tourists in a glass bottom boat.
We see ourselves and others going about the daily struggle.

Somehow we feel a disconnect.
Why are we attracted to some people
and repelled by others?

Is everything we have ever learned wrong?

I have always heard that we are what we think.
We attract what we think about and how we feel.
I want to know what the ultimate reason for our existence is.
Why are we here, now?

I think most of what passes for knowledge that we
were taught in school is bullshit, spoon fed to us by idiots.
They don't know any more than we do.
They just have a Certificate that says they know what they know.

I think a time is coming soon that will separate the wheat from the chaff
and the ones who care and he ones who do not.

I have watched as many of the people I called friends
have distanced themselves from me because I don't participate in the groups
and conversations that I suppose were the only thing holding our friendship together.

I miss them.
I think they have forgotten about me.
No one has time for anything but survival any more.
Just like when we were hunters and gatherers.
Only now we use computers and smart appliances.

All the time saving devices just cause us to work more and live less.
The material world is not a User Friendly place any more.
I think Love, Art, and Music are the only things that really matter.

Where will you be when Gaia gives birth to a new world?

Lost my Rose Colored Glasses

Look outside.
Look inside.
Look all around you.
Find the answer to the unasked question.
Ask the question that has no answer.

The riddle of the Sphinx.
Who has the authority to determine what intelligent
in intelligent life means?

Anybody can be an expert if they read enough books
written by other experts.
Experts have gotten society to where we are now.
Do you like the direction the world is taking?

Who is really running this dog and pony show?
If we only knew.
Anyone who really knows is not talking.

What is the mortality rate from the disease of Affluenza?
Money is the answer.
Money is the problem.
Money is the solution.

Whose idea was money anyway?

Can you rub your tummy and pat your head at the same time?
Whatever you do don't try it!

Speaking Out of Turn

We filled the void with Dark Matter, AntiMatter, and Whatsamatter
We have named the un-named, charted the uncharted.

Now we have even opened an Embassy in Havana.
At some point we even went to the moon, some people say.
Where have all the bees and butterflies gone? To AgriBigness every one.

Will we soon follow them?
Ask the Wizard. He knows everything.
He put the B in Buffalo.

With all this stuff that is going on.
We still find time to stop and kill the roses.

For every Daisy picked to play "he loves me, he loves me not",
a Supernova goes off somewhere in the great beyond.
A marvel to behold and we be holding it.

Peter Piper picked a peck of perfect pot,
and sold it on the market.
He was arrested the very next day because he was
practicing Medicine without a License.

That just shows to go ya….
You can't get high and low at the same time.

So why are we all just standing around?
Waiting for, "The Big One"?

It may just wait until it's really our turn….

Another Day, Another Dollar

Waking to the hum of an electromagnetic suburban fog
of microwaves spitting out their instant coffee,
frozen entrees, we head out for another pre-packaged day.

Kiss the wife, pat the dog and the kid.
Make sure you have your electronic helpers and your GPS guidance.
The Gadgets and Gizmos have taken the place of our brains.
Life is just a holographic shadow projected by our fears and desires.

Anything real is seen only in books and the poetry of the Awakened.

Work hard, play by the rules, raise a family of mindless children
who will grow up to be the wage slaves of the future.
They don't appreciate being born.
It is just the way things are.

Everything we believe is a collection of lies and half truths.
Our history has been re-written and edited to suit the current
mindset and geopolitical situation.

Our achievements are cherry picked from the morass of murder,
Imperialism, and corporate greed.

The American Way died many years ago. It only existed for
certain individuals of the correct complexion and religio-political persuasion.
For the rest of us it is work or unemployment or living at the whim of the state.

While the elite celebrate Independence day while they sip champagne and eat Caviar,
the rest of us have back yard barbecues and fireworks. Most Americans can not even
tell you why we celebrate the fourth of July. We lost our history.

So, Good Morning America!
Yesterday was Independence Day.
But we don't know who we are Independent of or why.
Our leaders are but Judas Goats leading us to slaughter.

Good Luck and God Speed.

A Journey

I woke up in Darkness.
A Darkness that is unimaginable.
There were thousands of lights all around
but I couldn't see my own hands.

Over to my left I saw what looked to be the Earth.
A tiny blue ball.
There was no up or down, no forward or backward.
My only points of reference were inside and outside.

The only thing I could touch was my own body.
There were no sounds except the beating of my heart
and the blood moving through my veins.

No heat or cold.
My thoughts were so loud they were like explosions in my head.
They were electric.
They were color.

Fluid color explosions.

They made no sense because
they didn't relate to anything I had ever experienced.
It was if everything I had ever done and ever will do, were all going on at once.
And those experiences were tied and tangled with the experiences
of everyone else I had ever known or will ever know.

There was a strange sense of peace being everywhere and nowhere,
and being everyone and no one, all at the same time.

Then,
I heard a voice.
Barely audible.
But getting louder.

It was saying "go home".
I said to wherever the voice came from, "I don't know where that is."

It said "still your mind and open your eyes".
I did, and I found myself sitting in front of my computer
with my mouse in my hand.

I guess that's as good as any other place to be.

Free to Believe the Unbelievable

Time has driven the vagabond from me.
The short span of the illusion of freedom I once had is gone now.
We are all prisoners of our beliefs and circumstances.
We own nothing but memories and fantasies.

When we were children, scared of our own shadows we never realized
that the shadows were as real as we were.

The Land of the Free and Home of the Brave is a holographic projection
of people who think they control everything.
But there are always contingencies .
Unexpected outcomes to what seemed a sure thing.

We are products of "Happy Accidents" or unhappy choices
made in uninformed circumstances.

We are slogans and products of the PR men and Wall Street Crooks.
Going here and there hoping for the best but we do not know what the best is.
We look for signposts along the way.

There are people who live in unimaginable places.
People who think that they are the only people that matter.
We are only one group of these people.
Some we do not even consider being people.

We are driven by slogans and illusions of reality.
What we "should" look like.
How wealthy we "should" be.
Pages out of magazines in the Doctor's offices.

We turn the page to find we have been lied to.
It is an upside down world and nothing is as it appears to be.
So, what is real and what is not?

We may never know…

I Knew You When

I knew you when we were young.
We had big dreams and no money.
We thought our generation
would make the world Utopia.

We thought we knew all the answers.
We didn't even know the right questions.

I wanted to hold all my friends and family close.
I never considered the changes and sacrifices
we would all have to make.

Now only a few of my friends still keep in touch.
To many I'm just a memory … Nostalgia.
To others I no longer exist in their world.

Most of my family are dead now.
Wars and bad choices took many friends.

How were we to know that all those dreams
would drop away like last years leaves?
And our Utopia would never materialize.

We all fell into the trap of trying to survive
by becoming wage slaves.
And all the time we didn't see how the life
we thought we had was just illusion and that
short span of freedom and exhilaration would give way
to our "senior" years.

Nothing lasts forever,
but did it have to end so soon?

We look back to yesterday
but now yesterday is thirty years ago.
And all we can say is …
We knew one another when.

Watch Your Step

To all the people who think
you will live forever.
You won't.

Everything you do now you will wear
until you die.
Every smell, sound, thought, and deed
will be recorded somewhere.

Life is not what it seems to be.
History is nothing but lies that keep
being rewritten over and over.
What has been done was not done
for the reasons we think.

There may be some people
who know the Truth.
But they are not sharing that Truth with us.
All we get is the truth.

If you ever find Peace, Joy, or Love,
hang onto it with all of your might.
It is very slippery and evanescent.

Be kind, be patient, be caring.
All we have is each other.

If you have lived your life to satisfaction
you are very lucky indeed.
Even so keep your wits about you.

Love and Luck can come from strange places
and at odd times.

On Napping

I awoke from a nap that I did not remember taking.
I was just suddenly awake and walking down the street.
I noticed there were no cars moving.
No people going from place to place.

There were no sounds.
No birds, vehicles, airplanes, music, no sounds at all, except the
rustle of dusty leaves on dying trees.

I walked for what seemed like miles and still no sign of life.
The sky had a dirty orange glow to it.
Not sunset or sunrise.

Maybe I am still asleep and dreaming.
I felt like I was being watched but by who or what?
An uneasy feeling that all life had either been taken away or had left some other way.

After days of wandering around in his strange limbo place I was about to lose my mind.
Then I happened to hear something.
I know I heard something!
A buzzing noise.
Something was flying around.

It got closer and closer until it actually stopped at me.
It was a Honey bee.
A single lone Honey bee.

For some reason that bee gave me hope that all life that was gone from Earth would someday be back.
And maybe, just maybe, whatever happened to everybody and everything would be better than it was before.

Then I really woke up.
Everything was just like it was before I laid down to take a nap.
I was disappointed.

Until...

I could hear a Honey bee just outside my window.

Gurus Galore

The world is full of Gurus.
The all-knowing, all-seeing, profiteers of prophecies.
They have all the answers.

People speaking in tongues but nobody knows what they're saying.

The Breathetarians who claim not to eat nor drink, just to be.
Walking on red hot coals, kissing poisonous snakes, drinking strychnine.

Are we real or just holograms in the mind of Brahma?
Step on a crack, break your mother's back.

So where is the promised paradise?

The beginning of the end is almost but not quite here….
What if we run off the track of destiny and end up back where we started?

Why can't we be in more than one place at a time?
I think we can be in multiple places at one time.
And be in multiple times in one place.

So which came first the chicken or the Archaeopteryx?

Life's Enigmas

I feel like a tree that is slowly losing it's leaves
and wondering if there will ever be another Spring.

A rebirth, a renewal.

We have all the questions and all the answers.
Sorting them into truth and lies is our task.

I need to feel that the struggles of life have a purpose,
beyond the span of our puny lifetime.

One day Love and light will be all there is.
Or complete oblivion will be our reward.
Getting off the wheel of life.

Who is to say what is real anymore?
You can only follow what your heart and your gut tells you.

It may still end in nothing, but
at least we tried.

A Soul's Flight

It is strange flying backwards
over trees dark with fog and moonlight.
Looking back as I fly I see the memories of all the people
and places from my life standing like tombstones
fading into the distance.

There must be a light at the end of this flight.
There has to be one.
If not then the journey has no point.

God, Nirvana, Enlightenment …
whatever the destination is I just hope it is not annihilation.

A life deserves some kind of reason for it's existence.

If not, then let the wind carry me on forever as far as forever goes…

Brethren

Brethren, sisteren, children, we all dance to the same tune.
Some fast, some slow, some dance where it don't even show.

Got me some oxygen today.
Maybe I can inflate myself and float away…

I bet there are balloon people on some planet.
I wouldn't mind that.
They eat lots of cake to hold them down to the ground.

Lay abouts my Grandmother used to call them.
Grandpaw liked them because they played banjos and sang Billy Boy.

"Does this road go all the way to the end?", I'd say.
I reckon so they all said, but they didn't really know for sure.

Well, I took a few more puffs and floated away.
I guess there's enough wind up there to blow me home.

And if it ain't and I wind up somewheres else, I reckon that would be alright too.

Finding A Hole

I wish I could find a sunny spot
in a grove of trees.
Where there is the smell of pine and last year's oak leaves.
There would be a hole or burrow.
It would be lined with soft leaves and fur.

All worries, stress and troubles
will be left at the entrance to the burrow.
I will enter the burrow with a clear mind and an open heart.
No regrets, only Peace.

Sealed in my cozy place I can let go
and sleep the sleep of the innocents.
Nowhere to go.
Nothing to do.
Just sleep and Rest.

After days, months, possibly years I will come back out.
Feeling like my Soul has had a bath.
All the Negative and Painful things of life are gone now.

The hand of God has wiped away the tears that have been cried
over Mankind's Foolishness.

I just need to find that hole.

Of Leaf and Light

The shadow of leaves
dancing in the breeze
reflected in the patch of sunlight on my wall...
beckons me.

Tempting me to follow an idea
and an existence of light and shadow

Just when I think I know the Truth
it slips between my fingers.

Staying just beyond my reach it gives me small hints
of the Reality that exists in the unseen
and only briefly experienced.

Light and Shadow entwine to produce the illusion
of tangible being.

We soon will find that the Truth is;
all is Energy.

Creative Intelligence solidified and then
that solid matter eventually melts back into the vastness of the Universe

Creating more shadows on more walls.

A Little Trip Through Space/Time

I remember waking up.
Wearing black leather clothes.
I never wear leather.
Maybe it was synthetic, I don't know.

A man in obvious Administration and
in control of the situation sat down and asked if we were comfortable.
I said "are you?"
He then had me promptly gagged.

He said we were taking a little trip.
A trip to a place where we "fit in" more appropriately.
I felt the cold steel on my wrists.
Tight but not uncomfortable.

Someone asked where we were going.
He said that is irrelevant.
There were small portholes that we could look out of.
We could tell that we were in space.

The Boss said that there had been a small accident on Earth.
We were being taken out of harm's way.
I then saw a glimpse of what looked like Earth.
I recognized the outline of the East Coast and Florida.
Everything was black and smoking.

I wondered what these stupid, soul-less idiots had done
to make the planet uninhabitable.
Flashes of all the beautiful and wondrous things that were back on Earth before.
I wondered if any survived.

The Boss said, It doesn't matter, we have preserved the DNA
of all the most desirable plants and animals.
Someone asked who ordered the destruction of the planet Earth.
The Boss said,"well, you, of course", and acted puzzled
that we were not aware of how this all came about.

You always wondered where you came from and how you got to Earth.
The same way you are now leaving Earth.
You wanted too much of everything.
You had wars over water and food and of course money and power.

You ended up destroying it all by trying to have it all.
Your leaders all lied to you.
You were never told the Truth.
They used your religious and racial differences
to create continual warfare.
Especially when you got anywhere near learning the truth.

So, now you finally know the truth.
But when you get to your new home all memories of where you came from will be erased.

And the cycle begins again.

To you it is millions of years, to us it is but only a moment of time.
A simple Diversion.
A Game as you call it.
We have enjoyed it for a long time.

Now let the new games begin…

Drizzle

Drizzle

The Dance of Life swirls around us
like the winds of a cyclone.
We worry about the Future and
Wonder about the Past.

We miss the Present,
falling through the cracks.

Where are we headed?
Where have we really been?

Are our lives only Dreams?
When will we awaken?
Where will we be?

Our lives are like the Peanut Shells
littering the dingy floor of a bar.

Could it be that there is a pattern to all this?
Do you think we will see that pattern?
The Method to the Madness?

We live only in the millisecond of the moment.
The Past is gone, the Future does not exist.
There is only the Eternal Present.

We have lived so many lives they are like the water droplets
in a rain cloud.
We eventually come together
returning to Earth.

And start all over again…

Loving Places, People and Things

Loving Places People and Things

I still can see the sunlight
filtering through the Pecan and Oak trees
onto the street in front of our house.
The smell of Mimosa in the front yard.

The skinned knees from sidewalk skates.
I think I still have my skate key.
The sounds of the Blue Jays squawking at our cat
as she crept across the side yard.

Playing with lead soldiers in the dirt floor garage
behind the house.
I don't ever remember seeing a car in that garage.
Just junk and bicycle parts and dusty boards.
We used sticks to try to coax the Doodlebugs
out of their cone shaped holes in the dust.

The Privet Hedge beside the driveway had a giant
Wild Cherry Tree growing in it. The tree was taller than our house
and we would sneak out the upstairs window at night
to go play Kick The Can and throw rocks at bats under the street lamp.

We would walk down to the River nearby and swim and fish and
catch Crawfish and Mussels.
The river mud always had a distinctive smell that
I would recognize anywhere.

The Sheer Terror of walking across the Railroad Trestle
and getting caught half way by the train.
Luckily there was a little balcony like thing I could stand on
and watch the wheels of the train taller than my head throwing sparks at they
flew past. A cloud of diesel smoke to remind me not to do that again.

Our house was built by my mother and father with their own hands.
I was born at the little hospital just across the street.

I loved every rock, every tree, every squirrel, every sound and smell.
They are etched into my brain.

The six years I spent there from the time I was born until First Grade
was the only time in my life that felt like Home to me.
My grandparents, parents and several brothers, sisters, nieces and
nephews are buried alongside the Confederate Soldiers who tried in vain
to defend the town and Fort Tyler in one of the last battles of the Civil War.
They all are buried not far from that house.

I was sure I could fly and could walk through walls
and when moving day came I told everybody that if my home made cardboard wings didn't get on the moving van I was not going either.

I have lived in many places since then.
Some good, some miserable, but that was the only place I actually loved and remember as being my home. No place has ever come close to that feeling.

Now I live in an old house that desperately needs repair
but I live with my Wife of twenty eight years. So where ever we are is Home now.
We are two sides of the same coin. I am nothing without her.

But I know Love can be for not just people and pets. It can be for places, smells, sounds, things that make you who you are.

There Is A Place

There is a Place

There is a place I've heard about.
The colors are much brighter.
You are never hungry or thirsty.
You can eat and drink if you want to,
but you don't have to.

Anything you desire is yours just by thinking of it.
You can travel at the speed of Thought.

No crime, no war, no death, a world where you
can create a new world every Morning.
It may sound boring but there are lessons to be learned there too.
They just don't involve pain and suffering.

This is where you go when you die,
or at least I've heard several people say it's that way,
for some people but not all.
They know because they have died and come back.

It is said that our world now could be that way if people could
just let go of the brainwashing they have received since conception.
Thinking in three dimensions when there are actually many more than three.

Our bodies and our entire Universe are mostly empty space.
If we could learn to experience that, we could walk through walls.
We could change our lives just by changing our thoughts.

I can remember when I was small I believed I could fly and walk through walls.
The older I got the more solid and oppressive the world became.
Most people would think that my Worldview
is a product of a deranged mind.

There are changes on the way.
Soon we will see who is deranged and who is not.
